I am a graduate student seeking a doctorate degree in adult education. It is important to me to reach this goal, not be called doctor, but to be able to say that I have pursued and attained knowledge at the highest height possible. This does not mean that I believe I will know everything there is to know in the world about any particular subject. It just means that I plan to do my due diligence in preparing to give back to the society in which I live.
Being a scholar has always appealed to me…even before I know the area or discipline I would pursue. What is even more appealing is learning in a community of like-minded scholars who also want to make a positive contribution in our society.
My specific contribution will be in the area of Entrepreneurship Education. I wholeheartedly believe that living is a life-long learning journey. As we grow and mature, there are stages we pass through and depending on the tools we need at any given stage in our lives, we learn what we need to. Some of us put forth more effort than others. The “others” may be pre-occupied with challenges, distractions, sorted priorities, and so on – but they too are learning something even in the midst of whatever is being experienced.
This page in my blog is for those of you who relate and want to share the rewards of your life learnings or just have an opinion one way or the other about whatever topic is being covered.

Hey Davina, Thanks for the follow on Twitter!
I share your attraction to the world of academia, I think. I only got part-way through my masters before I had to concentrate on working full time, now I spend a lot of time scheming up ways to get back to university.
Adult education is a pretty different field to science (which is more my thing) but I was reading this article earlier today and thought you might like it. It’s about the awesomeness of working with really smart people, scientists specifically:

Thanks for commenting and sharing such a cool article! Keep scheming and you will find yourself back at the university. If your desire is to be a scientist, you will definitely make it happen.
